For all of us involved. Dementia sucks.

Dementia sucks.

The person you love and know,

The person who saw you grow,

The person who moulded your mind

Is fumbling for sense they can’t find.

The simplest of words soon evade

The everyday life that they made.

The future that seemed once so clear,

Now lurks with the shadows of fear.

The control of their life slips away,

Paranoia is soon here to stay.

The person who helped you to be

Is no longer the person you see.

Dementia sucks.
